I’ve been photographing Reed for awhile now, and I can’t believe how much he’s grown (I first photographed him when he was a baby!). He just turned 3, and to mark this event his mother wanted me to be around while he did what he was well-known for. And if you can’t tell by the photos below, he LOVES playing with his trains. Seriously. If I needed to summarize Reed in three words it would be “THOMAS THE TRAIN”. This kid is a train fanatic! I have never seen so many trains belong to one child before… AND he knows the name of each and every one of them!
This was a session I fell in love with because I am a big fan of “lifestyle” sessions, or just sessions that have details of who a person is. It’s an amazing feeling- being able to capture a memory for his family that they’ll be able to look at 50 years down the road and just remember him the way he was, candidly, at 3 years old. It was fun seeing the clockwork in his eyes as he put the trains on the track, and even watching him align the trains on the piano (a habit of his).
